Well, it was a pretty good day considering we haven't had any organized school time in about a month. Here is what we did:
This morning, we read a scripture story and talked about the characters and settings. The kids then wrote (drew) in their journals something that we did over the weekend. It was during this time that Zadyn got hold of a handheld pencil sharpener and proceeded to sharpen her finger. It was gross, she had blood everywhere. She is OK, just took a little skin off the top, but she isn't too happy about using her right index finger today, makes for an interesting life for her!!!
Then we went outside for a while and played. We were trying to see how high we could throw things in the air without them landing on anyone. Then we tried to see who could throw things the furthest across the lawn. Zadyn wouldn't try because her band aid was in the way.
After lunch, we did some reading work (letter practice for Kyler) and then played a quick game of duck, duck, goose to get moving again. After Zadyn went down for a nap, the boys worked on their math and numbers. Then we reviewed their names, address, phone number, and birthday. They thought that was fun. I was surprised that Kyler remembered his birthday, but not his address. Oh well, at least people will know how old he is!!
Since today was the first day, we ended with the boys getting to play computer games. Avery picked Clifford's Birthday and Kyler picked Blue's Clues Birthday. They love to play computer games.
Tonight, before bed, Avery will read a couple books and I will read in a chapter book to them. That is our school day. It will take a couple days for the boys to get used to it and the new routine. We are now waiting for the public school to start and find out when Kyler will be going for speech.
