We've been busy......

As the title says, we have been very busy the past few weeks. Here's an update on all that's taken place.

Zadyn had an appointment with her neurologist in Missoula after Christmas. He recommended that we take her back to St. Louis and visit with the surgeon and physical therapy team, to get future recommendations. So, we talked with the St. Louis people, our PT and this neurologist and decided it would be a good idea to go back and see how her progress is going in their eyes. So, we have that trip scheduled for the first week in April. Then, we took her to a plastic surgeon to have the hemangeoma (strawberry birthmark) on her nose looked at. Under his recommendations, we are waiting another year, at least, to make any decisions there. It's getting smaller on it's own, so why mess with it? We are still in limbo for the electrical stimulus unit, but it looks like it's getting closer to being here.

Kyler is still in speech and is picking up new sounds constantly. He is now working on the /f/ sound at the beginning, middle and end of words.

Avery recovered well from his ER/Hospital visit. He had his C-Scan done and there is a small something in his throat. So, today, we had an appointment with the ear, nose, throat guy. He said that it is a small pocket of skin, that fills with infectious fluids and expands when he gets sick and causes the throat to tighten up. This pocket of skin is NOT supposed to be there, but since it doesn't hurt him when he's not sick, it's not a HUGE problem. It looks like it has been there since he was little. We have been giving the choice of having it removed, or just treating his breathing issues when they arise. We are leaning towards having it fixed, but are still weighing all our options. If we leave it, it could get worse, or it could just not be a problem as his throat grows. PLUS..... he has a loose tooth.

I had my bottom mounted/bonded retainer (from my braces days) partially fall off last week. I had to go see an orthodontist to have the rest removed. I am going in next month to get a new set of retainers made. Tuesday is my next OB visit. I will post about that next week.

Grant has been busy with church and work. At church, they are gearing up for Stake Conference next month, where the visiting General Authority will be David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles. They are all very excited and VERY nervous as a Stake Presidency to have an Apostle at conference. Grant, as the Exec.Sec., has been VERY VERY busy, trying to line everything up to make it go as smoothly as possible. (I'm just excited that the wives were invited to dinner with them on Saturday night!)

So, that's our life lately. It's been non-stop for a while and doesn't look like it getting any better soon. And it looks like we will be needing to do something about Zadyn as she keeps telling everyone that SHE has a baby in her belly. A phase?????

I love blogs so that we can all keep updated on what is happening in everyone's lives. (I know that we talk about it all over the phone, but to read about it again helps me remember all the details!) You guys are managing everything amazingly well. Wish I could go with you to St. Louis. I know that you and Grant will make all the right decisions on all the steps upcoming for your family.

You certainly have been busy. I know that I tell you this all the time, but you are an amazing mother and are handling things very well. We will keep you in our prayers as you make these important decisions. .
