Birthday fun and other stuff

This past month has been very busy for us. We ended our 2 week vacation to Phoenix/Jerome/Idaho Falls. It was fun to go away for a while, but it was even better to be back home.

We enjoyed General Conference. It was great listening to the prophet and the apostles. They are wonderful men. The kids enjoyed coloring their conference packets and doing the activities while listening to the speakers.

I had a good birthday. Grant tried to surprise me and invited a few friends over for cake and ice cream, but he's not very good at that sort of thing and I found out a few days prior. It was still fun though. The kids made me a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, then decorated it with flowers made from BIG Easter M&M's and Rolo's. Can you say chocolate overhaul??!?!?!?!? It was delicious!

We have moved back into the basement and have started working on all the little projects that need to be done. The bathroom is back in working order, just need to caulk. The school room is all set up, just need the second computer staged. The family room is all set up, but may need to reconfigure the furniture as their isn't much room to play Wii, but it works so far. The craft room, or Grandma's room as the kids call it, is all set up. I have even sewn curtains for Avery's room and started a new cross stitch project. I have many pictures that need to be scrapbooked, so I will start working on that soon, hopefully!

Avery moved downstairs and so far, has been enjoying his new freedom. He gets to stay up later than the other kids, reading books, listening to his radio, or just lounging on his bean bag. He is anxious for Dad to get his closet doors on, so Ryker will stop crawling into it and pulling out all his toys.

Kyler is enjoying the nice weather and asks to go play outside about every half hour. Yesterday, he only came in for lunch and dinner and was very dirty when it was bedtime. He loves to dig for treasure (rocks) and play on the pirate ship (swing set). He was the most excited when Dad set up the trampoline on Monday.

Zadyn was equally excited for the trampoline, but prefers the swings. She is doing well with her therapy, although is getting to the stage where she does only what she has to do and no more.

Ryker is 10 months old today. He is quite the little personality. He loves to play peek-a-boo with his bib at the dinner table. He had an appointment with a surgeon from Seattle this week about his LARGE belly button. He basically said that since the hole is still really small, there is nothing they can or should do at this point. They will re-evaluate when he is 5. I am not surprised, but I think they should have done something, at least for cosmetic purposes (however, insurance won't pay for that).

The whole family has been enjoying going for bike rides together. I got a new bike and Grant puts Ryker in the bike trailer behind his. My bike needs a little work on the gears -- they don't shift well. The other kids love riding around our subdivision.

We are all ready for Spring. With the 60+ degree weather for the past 3 days, it's been nice! However, we are not there yet. We are supposed to have rain and probably even snow for the next week. Why are teased so????

So glad you blog updates... I still think I have to post pictures before I can blog. Loved reading about what and how everyone is doing. What did you buy with your birthday money?
