So, for our FHE treat tonight, Avery (who was in charge of refreshments) wanted to make brownies. Now ordinarily brownies would be great, just plain old brownies from the box. But, we wanted something a little different. I think it was due to the fact that Avery joins me in watching Emeril Live and Rachael Ray daily. So, I found a recipe for something different.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Topped Brownies
I pass this along to everyone with one precaution, they are rich and gooey and YUMM-O!
Make brownies according to the box (or from scratch if you are so inclined) in the 9 by 13 pan. Allow to cool completely.
Mix together the chocolate chip cookie dough (it's edible because there is no egg!!!):
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 Tablespoons Milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1 cup chocolate chips
Spread this evenly on the brownies and ENJOY!
Store leftovers (what are those anyway?) in the fridge. They are GREAT cold. We chose to use the 9X9 pan and just halved the cookie dough, not as many leftovers for a family of 5. I have to tell you that Zadyn ate a whole brownie (1/9 of the pan) all by herself and got really mad when we tried to take it away and she wasn't done. Stain stick is my friend!
We hope you all enjoy this variation--

Sounds really good. Brownies and cookie dough how could you go wrong. We'll have to try them
Wow! Grandpa Clark would love that! Chocolate and more chocolate! That sounds like a great companion to our family's rocky road brownies. I think I will make some today!
