The Great Family Home Evening Boat Float

Last night, for FHE, Avery had the lesson. He did a great job teaching us the story of when Nephi built the boat to take his family across the ocean to the Promised Land. I was in charge of the game, so Avery and I conspired to have the game and lesson go together. Thus evolved the Great Boat Race. We each constructed boats from cardboard and tested to see who's boat could float and who's boat could hold the most "kids". Dad and Mom tied for best looking boats. My boat, however, didn't float at all. Everyone else's did float until the kids were added. Kyler was the big winner, his boat lasted the longest and held an amazing 13 kids (we ran out of kids, or it would have held more). The kids thought it was fun. Zadyn, well, she just liked cutting with scissors.

A cute shot of Zadyn, just because she's cute!

Mom's boat didn't even float for a second!

Kyler's boat wins!!!!!!!

What an outstanding family home evening. You are very clever to come up with such a fun game. And congratulations fo Kyler for being the winner. I am with Zadyn, however, and just like to use the scissors. You are certainly right about the photo being cute, she is a doll.

I'll bet that was so fun making those boats. Collette gave that lesson in SS a couple of weeks ago and that is one of my favorite stories in the Book of Mormon. Way to go, Kyler. And yes, Zady is cute, just ask anyone who knows her!
