All Things Halloween

Happy Halloween! We had a good time this year. The kids enjoyed dressing up and going trick or treating around our subdivision. Most of our neighbors give out full size candy bars, so the kids LOVED that. Then we went to the church carnival. They had some fun games, ring toss, bean bag toss, candy matching, a cotton candy and popcorn machine, balloon pop dart game and a spook alley (which the kids didn't go through). It was fun. Then we went to our friend's Lance and Nina's house for Root Beer and popcorn. We finally got home, scrubbed faces and made it to bed. Now, what to do with all the candy?!?!?!?

Avery loved being a vampire, complete with glow in the dark teeth. Kyler was a pirate with torn pants, painted on patch and sword with fighting sounds. Zadyn was a princess (of course) with a tiara and wand(?). She loved going to all the houses and having everyone dote over her.

These are the treats I made for Grant to take to work. They turned out pretty cute. I had quite a few trial rounds of different "spooky" treats, but this is the final product.

The kids got to make pumpkin faces. They don't like to carve them, so I got pumpkin potato head pieces at the store. Kyler made this one with snot coming out of it's nose. I guess it's just used to being outside in Montana weather this time of year!
Zadyn's pumpkin lost an ear and Avery was going for a evil look. They turned out cute. Too bad they won't last long, since I need to cook them and mash them and freeze them for treats!
Grant had to carve a pumpkin again this year for work. He carved a cannibal pumpkin. It was fun and turned out really well. He won most original pumpkin and a gift certificate. He dressed up as a cowboy for work (his whole department went as various cowboy themed people) complete with spurs, lasso and hat. I don't know how they get any work done there!

What cute trick or treaters! I love to see the little kids in their costumes. That is very clever for the potato head pumpkins and they are very creative. I want all your cinnamon bears if you got any! Where's Grant's picture in his costume?????
